How to Unlock

The payoff moment of the town restoration chain — no purchase skips it and no battle substitutes for it. It lands when the first district stands restored and held rather than when any timer says so. A New Dawn is the achievement that confirms the town has turned.

Trigger

Town restoration chain

How to Trigger This Quest: Progress the restoration chain: repair houses, fill town orders, and clear the district battle line. The cheapest small house — 4 Building Kit I, 3 Wooden Kit I, and 1 Iron Kit I — is the intended first repair and pops Back to Life; the safe zone follows the chain, not the calendar.

What This Quest Involves

Restoration Economics

Houses are the unit of progress: sixteen stand broken across the town, and fifteen repairs pop Urban Planner. Kits are the currency — Building, Wooden, and Iron in tiers — and town orders are the income that buys them. The first order pops Open for Business; twenty-five pop Merchants' Best Friend. The loop is restore, order, restore.

Purges Make It Safe

Restoration and combat braid together here: the Central, Eastern, and Western Districts Purge battles (two parts each) clear what haunts the houses you are fixing. A safe zone is restored ground that stays won — which is why the achievement reads as a dawn and not a purchase. Zombie Fighters garrisoned from the Barracks hold what the purges clear. Four to a squad, spears or bows, armor on.

Step-by-Step Strategy

Cheapest Path to the First Safe Zone

  • Open with the 4/3/1 small house (Building Kit I / Wooden Kit I / Iron Kit I) for Back to Life.
  • Run town orders in parallel — they fund the next set of kits.
  • Clear the district purge parts in story order, and hold the line with a garrisoned squad.
  • Reinvest early revenue into kits, not decorations — quality can wait, safety cannot.

The Snowball

Every safe zone compounds: restored townsfolk place more orders, more orders fund more kits, and the town starts paying for its own rescue. The official framing is honest — turn their problems into revenue. By the second or third safe zone the chain stops feeling like charity and starts feeling like an economy. A New Dawn is just the first receipt.

Rewards

  • A New Dawn achievement
  • The town's first safe zone
  • The restoration economy, compounding
